You might not be able to get away with stealing our favorite album or movie so easily anymore. Internet service providers like AT&T, Cablevision, Comcast, Time Warner, and Verizon have launched the Copyright Alert System or “Six Strikes,” which interacts with downloaders by educating the offender on copyright infringement laws.

Under the plan, you have six strikes. The first is a simple note explaining to the consumer their involvement in illegal activities and provides way to access the content legally. Each time the Internet account holder is accused of pirating illegal content they face a more severe “Copyright Alert” with the highest requiring you to complete a "copyright education program" before your Internet is restored to normal speed.

Cyberlockers, Dropbox folders, and e-mail attachments will not be including in the Copyright Alert System.

BE CAREFUL!
