Brooklyn, NY (BlackNews.com) -- In the midst of a growing obesity epidemic, where two thirds of the adult population and 19% of adolescents are overweight or obese, Fitness Expert, Motivational Speaker and President of Body Sculpt of New York, Inc., Vincent Ferguson, created the "Six Weeks to Fitness Challenge." The Challenge, conducted at Boys & Girls H.S. in Brooklyn, from October 17th through November 28th engaged over 252 adults in a variety of exercise classes, including bootcamp, body conditioning and Zumba, along with expert nutrition advice by Certified Nutritionist, Orvel Douglas.

Each participant in the Challenge reported significant losses in weight and body fat percentage. The top 5 participants lost over 100 pounds of body weight and over 25% body fat. The winners were awarded prizes of $1,000, $500, $250 and Spa packages for 4th and 5th place winners.

. "I wanted to show people that losing weight and body fat is easy and can be done in a relatively short amount of time once you know the proper steps to take", states Ferguson. In addition to the exercise classes, each participant was given a copy of Mr. Ferguson's latest book "Six Weeks to A Six Pack, Vol. 2". The book illustrates a 10 step process to losing weight and body fat in six weeks.

The Six Weeks to Fitness Challenge is only one of many programs created by Mr. Ferguson.
